new to show skiing?
If you’ve never been involved in show skiing before, you’re in the right place!
What Can you expect as a new member?
The Badwater Ski-Ters welcome skiers of all ages and experience levels. Whether you’re an experienced water skier, have only skied a few times, or have never put on a pair of skis before, there is a place for you on our team.
Show skiing is a unique team sport that combines water skiing, teamwork, athleticism, and entertainment. Our members participate in everything from doubles, trios, and ballet lines to barefooting, swivel skiing, jump acts, and pyramids. Just as important are the many volunteers who help with boat driving, announcing, music, costumes, dock crews, concessions, fundraising, and behind-the-scenes operations that make our shows possible.
What is the WIp Show?
WIP stands for Work In Progress, and that’s exactly what this show is all about.
The WIP Show gives our newer and developing skiers the opportunity to perform in front of a live audience while continuing to build their skills and confidence on the water. It is also where experienced skiers can practice and refine acts that are still being perfected for the main show.
The WIP Show is an important part of the Badwater Ski-Ters program because it provides a place for skiers to learn, grow, and gain experience in a supportive team environment. Many of our youngest and newest skiers make their first show appearances in the WIP Show before advancing into larger roles in the main production.
For spectators, the WIP Show offers a fun and unique look at the future of the team while showcasing the hard work and dedication that go into creating a successful water ski show.
